A deputy editor is joining the EYE team. He is Charlie Stong, 36, who takes up his appointment on August 3.

Charlie, who is married with a two-year-old daughter and lives in London, has 14 years of journalistic experience.

He joins EYE from the East London and West Essex Guardian Series of four paid-for local newspapers and two free titles, where he has been deputy group editor since 2009. He has worked in journalism ever since he graduated, covering news and sport.

Charlie will work alongside EYE editor Rosalind Renshaw to share the workload which she has managed single-handedly since our launch 18 months ago, and to take forward new editorial ventures.

Charlie said: “I am looking forward to joining EYE and covering an industry which, although I am new to it, is obviously full of interest and news.

“I am also very much looking forward to attending industry events and meeting readers.”

EYE managing director Nick Salmon said: “Coming from a solid journalistic background, Charlie has a nose, and an eye, for a story and we are delighted that he is joining the team.”
