A portal new to the UK is setting out its stall as having all the functionality of Zoopla and Rightmove, but offering much more.

The World Property Network – TWPN – has taken out big press adverts, including a full page in the Sunday Times Home section last weekend and this, and London Evening Standard.

It currently offers around 380,000 worldwide properties from, it is claimed, more than 900 agents.

Listings can be searched for in 72 different languages, with prices given in 32 currencies.

TWPN, which is based in London and Dubai, also white-labels itself for estate agents. It is offering free listings to UK agents until next April.

Yesterday afternoon it showed 2,114 results for sale properties in the UK, with homes listed by north London and Hertfordshire agent Statons making very frequent appearances. Statons, so far the only UK agent on TWPN, white labels TWPM.

The Statons site also yesterday showed it listing on TWPN, Rightmove and OnTheMarket. Peter Mansfield, chairman of TWPN, stressed there was no contravention of OTM’s “one other portal rule” because TWPN is a global offering enabling UK agents to market properties to international buyers, and this had been agreed with OTM. “We made sure we ticked that box,” said Mansfield yesterday.

Mansfield, who has a background in aviation, describes himself as a property investor who has bought and sold property all over the world.

Nick Staton, founder of Statons, said he believed TWPN has the potential of YouTube or Facebook.
