The Guild of Property Professionals is launching a marketing campaign to promote the benefits of the ‘no sale, no fee’ estate agency model to consumers.

Yesterday, the Guild made it clear it would not accept an online-only agent as a member – although its members are able to purchase and operate easyProperty licences.

CEO Iain McKenzie said: “Applications to join The Guild are at an all-time high, with 32 new joiners in the last two months.

“Strong, traditional agents are recognising the genuine USPs that the Guild delivers through its agreed exclusivity, Trading Standards Accredited Trading Scheme, and strong referral system via its circa 800 members and 1,500 users.

“The Guild would not accept an application from an online-only agent.”

The new campaign aims to educate the public about the benefits of ‘no sale, no fee’, highlighting that their estate agent is motivated to want a sale as much the home owner does.

McKenzie said: “There has been a rise in the number of DIY packages with up-front fees available to consumers, but no-one has truly explained the pros and cons of each service, so we want to educate the public about the different options that are available.

“At the Guild, we strongly recommend the high street option of ‘no sale, no fee’ to ensure that the seller gets the best service and best price for their home in the shortest possible time.”

The Guild has already created an animated video to explain the topic and will launch a full marketing campaign in the New Year with new tools for Guild members to use.

Separately, the Guild has launched photo ID cards for members, giving them a way to show clients that they have passed accredited training.

The cards will be available for £5 to all those who have completed the Guild’s new associate training scheme, which is approved by Cambridgeshire Trading Standards.
