Foxtons is opening two new branches on the fringes of London – at Surbiton, Surrey, and in the London borough of Croydon.
The two new branches are the latest addition to the agency’s expanding network, with the total number now standing at 58 offices throughout London, Surrey and Middlesex.
Both new branches will be aiming for quick market share by offering 0% commission deals to vendors.
Andrew Weir, Foxtons managing director, said: “We are pleased to be continuing our expansion as planned, opening five new branches earlier this year and adding the latest two offices to our network in September.
“Our expansion plan currently focuses on the outer London areas which are continuing to show considerable growth, and we look forward to bringing our 34 years of knowledge and expertise in the property market to the local communities.”
The Surbiton office is due to open on September 12 and the Croydon branch on September 26.
Yesterday, Foxtons shares recovered after Black Monday’s massacre on the stock exchange, putting on 5% during the day.

Generous of them to offer a 0% commission for sole agency. Personal experience says they’ll bring exactly two people round in the three months they market it, as soon as its chargeable, ten people will be brought round the very next day and a suggestion that maybe you’re asking just a bit too much money for it, even though you went with their valuation in the first place
It strikes me that opponents generally have two objections to Foxtons. One is based on a general dislike of specific free enterprise and the other is based on a dislike of the strength and effectiveness of Foxtons marketing position. Both represent a form of anti-success that will never be effective. If you have a problem with Foxtons, put on your football boots and get on the playing field.
