Passersby in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, were left shocked after a TV screen used to advertise properties in an estate agency’s shop window displayed pornographic images and videos.
A stunned passerby uploaded a video of an indecent image to Facebook last Thursday with the caption, “I’ve got a few questions about this.”
Whitegates Mirifield, located on Huddersfield Road, has apologised following the incident.
Writing on Facebook, the company said: “We were made aware this morning of an incident with our property display screen that was showing indecent images and videos yesterday evening.
“It appears that our server was hacked after opening hours and we apologise for any distress this caused people walking or driving past.
“I can confirm the display screen was switched off first thing this morning when we were made aware.”

Realistically, the TV is a smart TV that hasn’t had the WiFi disabled. Someone has shared their screen from their mobile (with the porn on it) and someone else has taken the photo. It was probably only up whilst they were close enough to screen share.
Please don’t ask why I know so much on this subject…
I hate to be a party pooper here, but surely the real story is the comment: “It appears that our server was hacked after opening hours…….”I hope that the extent of the “breach” is not as far reaching as Foxton’s one appears to have been? Still I am sure they will be informing clients and the ICO when they know the extent of the Hack.
I have often wondered why agents are not more of a target for criminal hackers…… holding so much information on customers: Full ID data often including utilities as well as passport info and bank account details…….. a one-stop-shop for the criminals after ID theft….. very valuable on the dark web?
Well, the carpet certainly didn’t match those curtains….
Bit of light relief for everyone this morning.
What’s truly shocking is that agents are still using such devices! Last time I looked, they were about £300 a month.
Is that meant to be a reply to #10
sorry, couldn’t resist
What a bummer! At least that’s what one passer by said
Puts a new meaning to hot property
Eye watering property porn at its best
Stamp duty holiday possible extension – 1 comment
Landlords and renters face financial ruin – 0 comments
Porno playing in shop window – 11 and counting!!
At least we know what engages the property world!
As if this job isn’t hard enough.
Were there any d i l d o rails…?
I suppose to escape embarrassment the agent now uses the rear entrance
Different to a normal board erection
”Hi. Could I have some more information on the semi I saw in your window yesterday?…”
These stories are more like it PIE. Some real penetrative journalism,
Really getting to the bottom of a story in order to keep us all a breast of what the challenges are on the high street.
Cheeky.
“It appears our server was hacked…”
One passer-by said…
“Actually, the server looked rather pleased”
Another embarrassment. It’s likely the blue movie had been stored on their office PC and somehow the wrong file was clicked?
I imagine the locals are not impressed in the slightest.
In such a small branch it won’t be hard to identify whoever it was – last out an all!
Well that made me chuckle.
