Dexters is to go on a hiring spree, with plans to take on 100 new employees over the next few months.
The new roles will primarily come via the Dexters Academy apprentice scheme next year, adding to the 70 new recruits the company took on through the initiative this year.
The London-based agency, which has 70 branches, forecasts that turnover will increase by 18% to £125m in 2021.
Brandon van der Westhuizen, Dexters’ recruitment director, said: “Our apprenticeships are at the very heart of the Dexters Academy, however we offer a full range of training and coaching to all of our colleagues from here.”
He added: “We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service and so those with experience in retail, travel and hospitality do well on our fast-track management programme where we can train them for a career in property. We also welcome applications from graduates and have a number of apprenticeships on offer.
“We do employ some talented people from elsewhere within the industry, but we prefer recruits to go through our Dexters Academy, indeed approaching 90% of our management have come from our own programme.”
After basic training, targeted earnings start at £27,500 – £45,000 rising up to £70,000 for senior negotiators and office managers, while experienced office managers can expect to earn a six-figure salary, according to van der Westhuizen.

You have to respect the way that Dexters goes about its business and keeps growing. I find the brand and their offices to be unremarkable and even a bit bland, but £125m of turnover says lots of people think otherwise.
Agreed – however to be hiring 100 people at the minute I think you’d have to be brave. Apprenticeships and the word Academy smells of cheap labour to me, they then have the option of cherry picking the good ones at the end of the course, add in to that any other incentives the Govt will give for job creation in the pandemic and one might see why they are doing it.
