Agents work in one of the safest of all industries, new statistics show.
However, 15% of employees in the sector feel unsafe at work – the highest perception of danger in anyone’s jobs.
‘Real estate activities’ is the fifth safest sector to work in with an overall score of 41 out of 100, coming well above transport, construction and agriculture, fishing and forestry – the most dangerous industry.
The classification of ‘real estate activities’ is a broad one, encompassing estate and letting agency, surveying, housing associations and, curiously, letting space at exhibitions and conferences. However, it does not include building.

Unjustifiably rude, aggressive, bad manners, no please/thank you (NOT Estate Agents!) – the public!!
Almost at stage of having Retail Style Message/Notice advising those against such “behaviour” towards staff ……and how would that look from a PR perspective?!
Over the years I have gently reminded some to communicate with my staff in a polite manner as they are doing their job and are not there to be verbally abused.
Society is going backwards on basic manners and with the anonymity of many social media platforms, we are taking social interaction/manners backwards.
Most of us are not perfect (me included!) and that’s a given however its the growing consistency of poor social manners/interaction?

The safest job must be a Politician. Big salary, plenty of expenses to claim, do their own thing in a building with ultra high security.

True but then she wasn’t in the House of Commons at the time. A bit like hiding out of reach of the public, I’m convinced many wouldn’t talk the way they do in front of their constituents or they may end up the same way.
Judging by the stories we see on PIE etc. the most dangerous thing about working in agency is having a car come through the office frontage.
Although the physical threat is rare, most Fear aggressive customers and tenants.
Many agents stay quiet so as to avoid negative p. r.
Our industry can’t even stop rightmove or purplebricks, so protecting agents is at least 100 years away.
