We are very sad to report the untimely and very sudden death of ‘Secret Agent’, who kept many of us entertained with his observations and insights on Twitter.

Or, as he himself put it, “the weary musings of a time-served estate agent somewhere in the UK”.

One of his sons used Twitter to let us know that SA had “cycled off into the sunset”.

He had a heart attack when out with a friend on a bike ride. They were chatting and laughing – probably about property – when he had a heart attack.

He died instantly, and thankfully without suffering.

He leaves behind a wife and two sons, to whom we send our sincerest sympathy. We also send our thoughts to his colleagues.

SA kept tweeting right up until the end, his final tweets being his thoughts on leasehold and the retirement of John Humphrys from Radio 4: “Sounds like a vacancy for a non-linear, gender fluid, oppressed minority, disabled candidate” was SA’s politically incorrect take on this.

SA, who also used to comment on EYE, will be much missed.

His son’s lovely tribute, posted on Saturday and headed “Off into the sunset”, is here: http://agentsdiary.blogspot.com/2019/02/off-into-sunset.html
