The Property Franchise Group (TPFG) has added to its senior management team.
Following Gareth Samples’ appointment as CEO in April 2020, the property franchisor has been focused on improving the central resources it provides to franchisees in order to support their growth.
A key element of this support comes in the form of providing franchisees with access to expert knowledge and advice from industry professionals.
Following the appointment of two additional managing sirectorsin the second half of 2020, Eric Walker and Gareth Williams, the team has recently been strengthened with the addition of Glynis Frew, who joined the company on completion of its acquisition of Hunters Property Group PLC, remains MD of Hunters and joins as an executive director of the TPFG Board.
The senior team comprises:
+ Kate Randall, MD of CJ Hole, Ellis & Co, Parkers and Whitegates
+ Nick Neill, MD of EweMove, the Group’s hybrid agency
+ Eric Walker, MD of Martin & Co South & Scotland
+ Gareth Williams, MD of Martin & Co Midlands and North
+ Glynis Frew, MD of Hunters, Country Properties and Mullucks

Trustpilot is always an issue
Northwood has gone from strength to strength since one of those left. Good luck TPFG. No doubt your expense account will be taking a good beating.
The last time a new tranche of MDs was announced by PFG, two out of the three left within six months or sooner.
It was covered here in May 2018 and Roz headlined it as “quick succession departures”.
There are some very successful franchisees within TPFG ,undoubtedly but I do wish Ewemove would spell out very clearly the risk factors attaching in their recruitment and a high risk of failure

The reality is according ,to ZPL they currently have 114 franchisees similar to Winkworths established many years
The main difference is that since Ewemove kicked off in 2013 they have lost a staggering 65+ franchisees. Only a handful of those have migrated to Martins & Whitegates within the TPFG umbrella ,the rest disappearing off the map some with life changing debts
That is the stark reality .That is a very real high risk of failure
To put this in some perspective in 2015 in their franchisee recruitment campaign they hand picked 16 franchisees as examples of success with their case studies
Of those 10 have disappeared . 1 migrated to Whitegates leaving only 5 still trading
On the site today today they flag up 3 5* Trustpilot reviews in their pitch
1 is Nick Neil’s franchise in York which is successful
2 Waterlooville .Dissolved 2019 Last accounts showing a deficit of £32,556
3 Cheltenham Just 1 sales instruction & 4 lettings and latest accounts show net liabilities of over £70k
Interesting re: reviews; if that is the case then the CMA will not be happy bunnies. I am mystified why an agency, or any other business for that matter, would focus on Trustpilot rather than Google – unless, that is, they are gating reviews to Google through Trustpilot, which is also in contravention of CMA regulations and in breach of Google ToS.
I don’t doubt the authenticity of the 3 5 star reviews relating to customers experience but surprised they are used as a hook to attract new franchisees whereas the success of 2 of the 3 franchisees is somewhat different .

However of the 3 reviews with the exception of Nick Neil’s York franchise which is succcesful you beg the question why on earth are they grandstanding the Waterlooville franchisee when it was a failed franchise ceasing trading in 2018 in their marketing today -2021 ?
Furthermore Cheltenham a franchisee who is currently struggling with just 1 sales instruction and 4 lettings.
Liabilities acc. to Companies Houses have increased steadily from the get go in 2015. from £20.652 to £39.482 to /£54.995 to £61270 to £70909 in the last accounts .
Don’t they expect their prospective franchisees to check out performance ?
The adjoining franchisee an existing estate agent in Gloucester started in 2019 and packed up last year
