Frank Modern, a new family-run estate agency has opened its first office in Peterborough.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Michael and Morgan Parry, Frank Modern aims to makes its mark in Peterborough’s property sector by relying on a range of digital house-selling methods.
Rather than opening a traditional high street office, Frank Modern is based in their Stuart House offices.
Locally born and raised Michael Parry has more than 15 years’ experience in the industry as an agent.
He said: “Morgan and I are over the moon to realise the vision of launching our own estate agency brand in Peterborough, something we have been working towards for years.
“Estate agency is changing rapidly and the typical high street agent is on the decline. Removing the cost of high street rent means we can spend more on marketing clients’ properties, reaching a wide audience while offering customers real value for money.
“Frank Modern’s mission is simple – provide warm and professional service, as you’d expect from a family business, while using the power of technology alongside modern strategies to get your house sold as soon as possible – our aim is within 30 days for the best possible price.”
Co-founder Parry added: “Michael and I created Frank Modern because we wanted to do things differently from other agents. As well as our expertise in the industry, with over 3,000 property sales between us, we have in-depth knowledge of this area, having both been brought up locally.
“As a family business, our service really has a personal feel. We are there for our customers throughout the often stressful house buying or selling process, from first viewings until they pick up the keys on completion day. Michael and I have a great love for this area so we are excited to use our local knowledge to our customers’ advantage.”

Blimey – their first lesson learned the hard way: don’t send launch press releases to industry media! Not unless you want a right royal roasting from your competitors and all the other charming readers, that is.
Blimey folks- the phrase ‘if you don’t have something nice to say’ springs to mind! We are all in a very competitive marketplace and differentiating, real or perceived, is what we all try to do- don’t we? But indeed- we do all sell or let property. Wishing them the very best of luck in what is going to be a very exciting, challenging and huge learning experience!
I am sure we all do wish them well , but we have all heard the “we are going to do things differently” a zillion times. What is different about them that has never been done before
I wish all agents well apart from the ones with whom I directly compete, I wouldn’t put them out if they were on fire.
Truth be told agency is only ever about trying to eat each others lunch and cold starts like this are in a race, can they hit traction before the money runs out ?
A couple of decades ago we opened cold in the May ( with only pictures of my parents house in the window basically saying if we had anything this is how we’d do it ) and wrote a 20k month in the August up against both established indies and corporates. I’m still proud of that.
In my experience these outfits almost always either hang on long enough to open a branch or are never seen again after a year. Not exclusively, but mostly.
Best of luck to them, but can we have some meat on the bones as to what is different. Otherwise its just an advert for a new business.

Oh dear! I wish them well. But the word naive springs to mind!! I did this 30 years ago and at that time managed to make my mark but now it’s a whole different world.
I wish them all the best, however the article reads just like every estate agents website / blog going….I hope they are successful and do well, but how about start being different straight away, by dropping the same old soundbites!

Every new agent i see spring up always say that service is lacking in the industry which is why they saw a space etc etc….

I think you’ll find that a lot of clients DO prefer a high street branch to pop in to and in some towns, you can get a visible premises for about the same price as one that’s tucked away on a trading estate next to your double glazing firm, so, why wouldn’t ya?
Proud and excited to be launching their brand, remember it well, but there are 100’s of others going self-employed as lone agents with digital offerings and personalities that differentiate themselves from the stereotypes.
Digital works in some areas, but there are definite benefits of having an office.
Their story will get real when they enter the cut and thrust of the market. Good luck!

What cynics – why not with them well?
The bigger challenge for all new entrants to the market is that it is difficult to a) say you are going to do things differently, when b) you are still fulfilling the same business need as other people.
Did I miss the word disruptor?
Nothing that can’t be replicated at the touch of a button. If they’re relying on digital to differentiate.
“Do things differently” says the headline. No different to other agents at all, is the truth.
