Jerry Walters, managing director of FCS Compliance, is the latest speaker to be confirmed ahead of the Residential Conveyancing Conference, which takes place online tomorrow afternoon.

Walters will present to attendees at the ‘Residential Conveyancing Conference’, providing an update on the latest anti-money laundering (AML) legislation and sharing some of the common pitfalls to avoid.

Walters who has more than 25 years’ experience of working in financial fraud and crime enforcement, will update attendees on the latest anti-money laundering legislation and outline some of the common pitfalls made by conveyancing practitioners.

“Anti-money laundering checks are complex at the best of times”, said Walters. “But they have been made even more so with the outbreak of a global pandemic.  Add Brexit into the mix and the challenges facing conveyancers are immense.  But being unwittingly non-compliant is no defence for HMRC who consider money laundering and terrorist financing to be among the most serious of crimes.”
