Palmer Snell, part of the Countrywide Group, has closed two of its branches in the South West of England.

The company’s high street office in Bridport, Dorset, has been closed, with members of staff relocating to offices in Weymouth and Yeovil.

Meanwhile, Palmer Snell’s branch in Winton, Bournemouth, has also closed.

Countrywide, which agreed a new debt deal this week, has been under pressure to consolidate brands and branches to help balance the books.

Catalist Partners, which owns 10.5% of Countrywide, has been among those encouraging the group to look at reducing costs by closing branches.

In August, Robin Paterson, who helps to run Catalist, warned Countrywide that “time is of the essence” when it comes to tacking mounting debts.
