When EYE carried this story last week we said that the firm appeared to be rationalising the business.
The extent of that rationalisation became clear yesterday when The Shropshire Star broke the news that fifty four people were made redundant as as the firm went into administration.
Only 18 jobs were saved in a pre-pack deal for the lettings and property management part of the company, and brand name of Andrew Grant which had been going for nearly 50 years.
The business, which had incurred “substantial trading losses” over the last two years, was restructured last year.

Allowing payanyway agents and new homes on to your site took all the profit out of the industry.

Also a shame ‘The Negotiator’ is running a story on how poorly Spicerhaart staff have been treated. Why is EYE not running the story? Being kind its because their General Ros is being replaced so things get through the net. Being suspicious its because Paul Smith contributes to the publication.
I am not too sure why some “ stories “ are covered by one news outlet and seemingly ignored by others maybe there is an explanation? Also covered by The Negotiator is a running story of a CWD office in Bromley, Kent which has apparently been caught conducting viewings during lockdown and the BM of said branch has “ threatened “ the competitor who reported them to their head office. This occurred at the end of April and apparently no action appears to have been taken or statement issued by CWD other than to “ investigate “. I would have thought that a pretty good news story but maybe not?
