Humberts yesterday put up a holding page on its website. It gives a telephone number which is incorrect.

Humberts UK Ltd also posted up a new notice on Companies House saying it had satisfied a charge, with the “persons entitled” being Humberts Ltd.

There is clear distress for employees who look to have lost their jobs before Christmas, and also for the reputation of franchisees who have bought and wholly own their businesses, and whose businesses are apparently still successful and going. Franchisees are invited to contact us so that we can clarify their own businesses as estate agents.

We have also spoken to an agent who sold their business to Humberts but where a payment has allegedly been missed.

Despite repeated attempts, we have still not managed to contact the owners and senior management team of Humberts, one of the oldest estate agency brands in the country.
