Former boss of UK’s Purplebricks business Lee Wainwright has become CEO at FocalAgent.
Wainwright, who is also a non-executive director of proptech start-up Habiplace, was with Purplebricks for two years – the last 15 months at CEO.
A former long-standing managing director with Countrywide, he left Purplebricks in March for personal reasons, departing at the same time as Purplebricks’ US boss Eric Eckardt. Their departures were followed soon after by those of founders Michael and Kenny Bruce.
FocalAgent launched in January following the merger of marketing firms Audioagent and KeyAgent.
Croydon-based FocalAgent provides agents with a number of products, including EPCs, photography, virtual tours, floorplans and videos.

Lee is a very nice person but not sure what he actually contributed to in Purplebricks apart from being paid to have a title?
Congrats, Lee! Sure you and FocalAgent will continue to do great things.
Does anyone on here use this firm? They any good?
Maybe just unlucky? However his 2 year journey at Bricks coincided with the share price plummetting from from 355p to135p hundreds of millions wiped off value. From his appointment as CEO the fall was even steeper from 410p.
Possibly one of the most stupid responses I have ever seen on PIE.
Ok just call it a hiccup in an otherwise stellar career or maybe you don’t hold CEO’s responsible for company’s performance
The fall in share price tracked the fall of other companies in the same sector (Online Agents), you can be held responsible for your companies performance… yes, but not the sectors.
They must have big ambitions (and deep pockets) to secure an appointment like this. All the best to Lee and Focal Agent.
Great appointment to a great firm
