The new Purplebricks adverts tell potential customers that they will be totally sold on the service.
The accompanying hashtag drives the message home, as we reported yesterday. hashtag#teampb hashtag#totallysold
But guess who owns the domain name TotallySold?
None other than Russell Quirk.
It’s a dormant site, www.TotallySold.com, so doesn’t link to anything – although there’s no reason why it couldn’t.
Quirk says: “I bought it as a domain name in 2013, thinking it might be worth something one day. Seems like it is now.”

totallysold doesn’t really do much as it’s not a dedicated property website, could be for cars, washing up liquid in fact almost anything. Now let’s think of a web name that would really hit the spot….. I know how about………….. purplebroke ?
purplepain.co.uk ?
It is called cybersquatting and it is an odious practice. Why am I not surprised at this latest example?
Calling it a story is a bit generous
What would make it a story is the valuation.
Come on PIE/Russell – how many millions is the domain worth?
At least £100m – seems like the ‘in’ value at the minute.
I expect it to be numptyfunded any day.
I wonder who tipped PIE off on this story?
