One of the best known movers and shakers in the industry, Peter Fuller, is leaving the high-profile firm he helped get off the ground.

Fuller, who joined Romans in its very early years in 1991 and then became a shareholder director, leaves this week.

Romans was started in 1987 by a trio of former school friends and soon became a by-word for success, winning countless awards and with a thirst for acquisitions in the Thames Valley and beyond.

Because all the founders were so young at the time, they are still only middle-aged after exit as they retire – or strike out on new opportunities.

In 2013, Fuller was a board director of Berkshire-headquartered Romans when it was bought out by the management in a £50m deal backed by Bowmark Capital. That same year, Fuller was appointed to the board of The Property Ombudsman. He is also involved with the Property Academy.

In 2016, Romans merged with Leaders to become a single group, in a deal again backed by Bowmark Capital. The group at that time had over 140 branches and combined revenues topping £100m.

Also in 2016, Fuller moved from his role as director of lettings to become director of mergers and acquisitions.

While Fuller stayed with the  business after the merger, he did appear to make steps to set up his own venture that could be developed in the course of time, and it now seems he will be concentrating on this: http://www.pfpc.co.uk/

A spokesperson for Romans said yesterday that ex-lettings director Fuller will be helping owners in the post-tenant fees ban environment to grow their businesses both organically and by acquisition.

Leaders Romans Group CEO Peter Kavanagh said: “On behalf of the company I would like to thank Peter, one of the founding directors of Romans, for his contribution of approaching 30 years’ service to the company.

“His time here has seen the lettings business go from strength to strength and become one of the largest in the UK.”
