A letting agent is set to be featured in tonight’s TV episode of ‘Nightmare Tenants Slum Landlords’.

The programme is due to show two landlords allegedly owed £16,000 by the east London agency which had been pocketing their tenants’ rent.

The programme apparently features a new company name above the door, employees claiming ignorance and a violent confrontation, as eviction specialist Paul Shamplina attempts to chase down the money that the landlords are owed.

Shamplina said that in this case, the landlords were extremely lucky to be able to collect their stolen rent money back, “but unfortunately many other landlords who contacted us were not so lucky as the business closed down”.

Shamplina added: “I only hope that Trading Standards takes significant enforcement action and gets some sort of justice for those who have lost money.”

Tonight’s programme airs on C5 at 9pm.
