An expert property panel is set to be a highlight of the Guild of Property Professionals conference next Thursday.
The panel will be voicing their opinions on changes to the sector and the impact the Government’s proposals will have on the industry moving forward.
Members include Matt Prior, who works for the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government and is leading the Government’s plans to deliver a quicker and cheaper home buying and selling process.
He has worked for the department through its various name changes for the past nine years, having previously led a review of infrastructure projects – from new airports to nuclear power stations.
Also on the panel are Property Ombudsman Katrine Sporle; Neil Cobbold, of rental payment automation platform Payprop UK; and Paul Offley, compliance officer at the Guild’s parent company GPEA.
Speakers at the conference who aren’t on the panel include Anthony Codling, CEO of Rummage4property.
The event is being held at the QE2 hall in Westminster, and will include an awards bash hosted by TV’s Countdown presenter Rachel Riley.
Meanwhile, the NAEA’s conference – open to both members and non-members – is on February 14. The venue is 155 Bishopsgate, London.
Speakers include David Pollock, former owner of Greene & Co; Clive Robins of the Competition and Markets Authority who will be speaking about cartels; and expert Jerry Walters, who will discuss the latest anti-money laundering rules.

Surprised Quirk didn’t manage to secure a seat at the table as a “property expert”! He seems to have dusted himself down and shut tight the lid on the Pandora’s Box of Emoov as just a small blip in his stellar career. It seems that the little matter of his crashed empire at Emoov after a very public frothy pitch on Crowdcube is already consigned to history

I hope that the FCA undertake a full and intensive investigation of Emoov .It certainly has forced a number of estate agents and proptech seeking investment last summer to pull their pitches.
More conferences. More waffle. Yaaaaawn.
I got invited to the Guild and the Fine and Country conferences last year, not a single one of the presentations was disappointing, most were excellent. The content on day two was different to day 1, not a repeat of content.
I thoroughly enjoyed last year’s conferences and don’t think they warrant the jibe
