The property was featured online by the Mail and Metro, leading to theories that the house had been used to make adult movies, or was formerly a brothel.
One Reddit user posted up: “It was likely put in because they shot porn at one time there.
“An actual bathroom is too small to shoot porn so any shower scenes you see would be shot in a room like this.
“That is also why the shower windows/doors are clear instead of frosted glass like a standard shower uses.”
However, none of the speculation holds water.
Agent Page & Wells, who have the £260,000 property in Maidstone under offer, told the local paper the house was lived in by an elderly lady who could not manage the stairs.
And there the story should end.
However, if you look at the comments underneath the story, it is somehow the estate agent’s fault . . .

No, I’ve had one of these before. Just convenient for the older person that lived there.
Also, when I interrailed around Europe in the 90’s, 2 of us had a twin hotel room in Berlin that had a see-through shower cubicle in the bedroom. Awks.
