Two complaints made to the advertising watchdog about a branch of RE/MAX, the US-based franchisor with a presence in the UK, have been informally resolved.

A spokesperson for the Advertising Standards Authority said: “The RE/MAX International case involved two complainants who challenged whether a claim, which appeared in a circular, saying that one of their estate agents was the only person who could get you the highest price when selling your house could be substantiated.

“We approached the advertiser with our concerns. They agreed to withdraw the ad and to not repeat the claims made in the ad.

“On this basis, we concluded that the case was informally resolved.”

The branch concerned was RE/MAX in Glenrothes.
