Now here is a mystery – a haunted property which has vanished off Rightmove, but which can still be seen on Zoopla.

Prepared to be frightened.

Very, very frightened.

This looks like a chilling example of portal power as never seen before.

It may not have seemed so super-natural when Yorkshire agent Preston Baker loaded up a real “haunted house” where the enterprising agents are hoping for as many viewing requests as possible, as each one will trigger a donation of £2 for a very good cause.

Preston Baker is “selling” a real “haunted house” in the form of a Best Western Plus hotel, Mosborough Hall.

The listing encourages visitors to request a viewing, and every time they do so, Preston Baker donates £2 towards the Make a Dream children’s charity, and enters ‘viewers’ into a draw to stay at the hotel.

If you dare.

The 750-year old hotel is said to be thoroughly ghostly with stories of white ladies, spectral dogs, radios being turned off and pint glasses being thrown (sounds like an average Friday night on a pavement near you).

Here comes the mystery.

In the first press release notifying us of this spine-chilling advertiseme   . ..  whoops, we do of course mean property listing . . .   we were told that the property could be viewed on Rightmove.

Well, it could. Once. Apparently for just 24 hours.

It has now vanished.

But, as we say, is still haunting the pages of Zoopla.

So, does this mean that if Rightmove did not feel able to enter into the spirit of things, Zoopla has no such inhibitions about listing ghost properties – in, of course, a very good cause?
