The property market slowed in March, according to estate agency boards firm Agency Express.

Its data showed that For Sale boards converting to Sold dropped 10% during the month, while supply of For Sale boards went down by 4.7%.

The firm says that the early Easter did not help, and that the drop in figures may have been attributable to a fall in the number of landlords putting properties on the market as the Stamp Duty deadline neared.

In only two regions were there increases in new listings For Sale – Scotland and East Anglia.

In only one region – the north-east – was there an increase in Sold boards. The 20.3% rise was robust compared with all other regions, particularly Wales where Sold properties fell by 19.3%.
