Estate agency chain haart has taken action after a letter went out to households saying that boards would be erected at their properties.
Another agent, in Norwich, said that one letter had been sent out to a rented property where the tenant had lived for a year.
The agent said: “Clearly, boards would be popping up at all their managed properties.”
The agent said this would contravene trading practice.
Andrew Benn, managing director of haart Lettings, told EYE : “Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
“We have established that the letter was sent by an over-enthusiastic lettings administrator who was acting without head office knowledge.
“Her activities have been stopped and will not happen again.”

Used to be a standard advertising practice back when I worked for them
They really do stoop very low don’t they, perhaps they should try limbo dancing!
If you look at this girls Facebook page she is clearly 17/18 as she has just passed her driving test. There is no way she came up with this idea. This is such a creepy letter it makes me shudder..so embarrassing. The poor girl has been made a scapegoat. Pathetic excuse for an Esate Agent. Letters like this are what give the industry a bad name.
Guessing they had organised an “Independent Board Count” for market share. If members of the public please take note how low some agents are!
Worrying that they do not seem to know what trespass is…
That said, if I were to receive such a ‘request’ I would probably rather reply that I charge £100 daily, invoiced weekly. Katching.
Another guttersnipe tactic by Haart who are, in my experience, a bunch of common touts and cowboys.
This is a regular tactic for Haart & most corporate agencies I have worked for,it is not over enthusiasm by staff it’s a direct instruction from the top, desperate time take desperate measures.
Probably struggleing from from lack of leads from OTM. Not really a site for rentals.
