Belgarum Estate Agents in Winchester has acquired local letting agency Purdie and Swan, expanding its lettings portfolio in the area.
The deal brings together two established businesses, with Purdie and Swan’s existing rental portfolio transferring into Belgarum’s lettings operation.
Belgarum said the integration will bring additional resources to its lettings team while maintaining existing service arrangements for clients of both businesses.
Managing director John Leeson said the acquisition builds on the firm’s long-standing presence in the Winchester market. Established in 1989, Belgarum is one of the city’s longest-running independent letting agents, with a portfolio of landlords across the local area.
Katherine Treseder-Griffin and Kate Wakeling directors of Purdie and Swan Lettings said in a joint statement: “Belgarum were the natural choice. We instantly knew they would be the perfect custodians of our important and many longstanding client relationships. Our values are so similarly aligned, and we’re confident that they have the right approach to providing outstanding personal service.”
Treseder-Griffin and Wakeling will remain with the business as consultants for the next month, whilst Claire Smith, property manager, will stay with Belgarum on a permanent basis.
Alex Lambourne, director, and Dan Salkeld, head of lettings, will oversee the transition and integration.
