Rating website raterAgent has launched a new monthly award for lettings agents.
It is free for any letting agent branch to enter and all they have to do is encourage their landlords and tenants to leave reviews on the site.
The new award, run with the support of Fixflo, is alongside raterAgent’s estate agent of the month award.
raterAgent CEO Mal McCallion said the new lettings award will start running from next month.
He said that fake reviews will be weeded out, as always, and any branches trying to cheat will be disqualified.
raterAgent’s ‘Estate Agent of the Month’ awards have been won by branches such as Thomas Marsh in Grays, Charters in Alton, 1st Class Property in Romford, William H Brown in Hoddesdon and Distinct in Banbury, all as a result of their clients’ verified reviews.

The best of August and September will be rolled together for the first trophy given out at the end of next month.

It seems strange that William H Brown and Charters have been used as examples of winning this monthly award, when William H Brown only have 3 reviews in total and Charters only have 1 review. The rest of the companies mentioned do have a larger number of reviews, but when you look at it monthly, they are achieving only a few a month – surely there are companies with a much higher number of reviews than this?
So how do the awards work, if an agent gets one review in a month, is that automatic qualification? With the names being put into a hat at the end of each month?

How it works is not on quantity but quality. All 5 star reviews for that month are gathered up and then we work through them all to find the best review, this is based on the reviews text and is not a random selection.
We look for quality written reviews that really make that agent stand out. This agent is then awarded the #EstateAgentOfTheMonth, and now #LettingAgentOfTheMonth.
