Rightmove is investigating the case of an agent who is using eBay to sell listings on the portal for £9.99 each, which can be bought using PayPal.
The story was carried on Eye yesterday, revealing that Elite Property London is using eBay. The firm yesterday had 16 rental properties listed on Rightmove.
Companies House lists the director of the firm as Shakeel Khan, 22.
A Rightmove spokesperson said after our report appeared: “Our understanding is that this is a new service that the agent has launched since becoming a Rightmove member.
“We have a process in place for cases like this to re-vet members to ensure that they comply with our terms and conditions, and we are applying this process here.”

Taking into account that both RM and Zoopla seem to have taken the view that high street agency is dead by allowing internet only firms to advertise (with more to come) it’s ironic that they are so passionate about protecting their own business. Roll on Agents Mutual.
Well done Ros for highlighting this issue. I think RM care very much – it's a direct breach of their terms of business and they wont want to set a precedent allowing agents to ignore these terms. What next – bidding for listings? I believe with AM on the horizon, issues such as this will be taken very seriously.

Rightmove don't care, as long as they get their fees, they need to spend some of their money on a new website, its looks worse than ebay actually! SO DATED! I think they know though that the end is coming so what's the point.
