Property website Houser has introduced a valuation tool – with a difference.
The difference appears to be that a number of properties are not quite where you might have thought they are.
Eye’s own home, for example, is in rural Hampshire.
On Houser, it comes up as being in East Lane, north Wembley.
Oddly enough, all the properties in our country lane are either in Wembley, with a fine view of the North Circular, or Limerstone Road, Brightstone, which is on the Isle of Wight.
We’re also a bit surprised over Houser’s valuation of Eye’s home, which says it is not worth as much as a currently uninhabitable cottage nearby.
We looked at a road in a village just up the road from us, also in Hampshire, to see where Houser thinks it is, and it came up with Aylesford Street, London.
We also looked at listings for that postcode and discovered that nearby areas are apparently in Wrexham, Wales – which is several hours drive away, not to mention being in a different country.
Anyway, you get the gist. It may take your mind off the election.

TWO things here, folks…
Firstly – OTM Members need to check that they have not been added to this woeful site AGAIN without their prior knowledge or agreement. Trust me – it’s happened for quite a few! Houser were specifically named as a “competing portal” by AM – and they are aware of the issue once again.
Secondly – as pointed out in the story, just when you thought nothing could be more inaccurate that a Z “valuation” – these jokers come up with an even cr@ppier version with LESS accuracy (believe it or not…).
And give them at least a smidgen of credit – Z didn’t place your property in the wrong town, county… or CONTINENT…

With an Estate agent, a respected one, now an MP we can leave the woes and misery caused by online valuations modelling to Kevin.
Instead of big business threatening the litigation stick at anyone who dares talk out of turn there is now someone who knows what’s what in Westminster.
I have pumped all the properties I am responsible for thorough the available RNG systems. The very closest, on a property that had comparables falling like Cider apples, was 13% out. Being fair to Houser although one of the properties had two different valuations obviously from different data sets, Houser got 1 property on the money value wise but were let down by having the wrong number of bedrooms on which to base the price.
You know how I have been banging on about data. Have a look and see if you notice one very significant observation. Compare properties that have been marketed in the portal age and those that haven’t. Those that have, have bedroom/ bathroom detail those that haven’t don’t.
Chancer was always the phrase that came to mind when the last few stories were written on this chap!
This is such an abysmal site I wonder why it even get journalistic time, other than nothing more than a joke.
The back story of confidence about this site was such that it HAD to be right…..it so obviously isn’t!
